AVM

AVM Origins

AVM, which stands for Audio Visual Manufaktur, is a German company founded in 1986 in Berlin. Initially, AVM focused on producing communications and networking devices such as DSL, ISDN, Wireless, and VoIP products. The company is well-known for its FRITZ!Box series, which includes home networking devices for DSL, cable, FTTH, and LTE connections.

In 2019, AVM expanded its product line to include turntables, entering the high-end audio market. The company developed the R2.3 and R5.3 turntables in-house, with the R2.3 being a smaller model priced around €3390 without a pickup. The R2.3 turntable features a single motor belt drive, a 9-inch AVM tonearm (gimbal-mounted), and a massive 37 mm HDF composite frame with an aluminum cover. It also includes 33/45 RPM look-forward servo control, height-adjustable damper feet, and a hinged acrylic dust cover.
