Brinkmann Audio Origins
Brinkmann Audio was founded in 1985 by Helmut Brinkmann, a German engineer with a rich background in audio engineering. Before establishing his own company, Brinkmann was a partner at Audiolabor, where he developed several acclaimed audio products, including the notable turntable, the Konstant. After selling Audiolabor in 1984, he was encouraged by loyal customers to continue his work in audio design, leading to the creation of Brinkmann Audio.
The company's first product, the Balance turntable, was introduced shortly after its founding and has remained in continuous production for decades. Brinkmann Audio is renowned for its commitment to high-quality craftsmanship and meticulous design, producing every component in-house in Germany. The brand emphasizes the importance of each part's contribution to sound quality, ensuring that all products are handcrafted from premium materials.
Brinkmann's design philosophy centers around simplicity and longevity, aiming to create audio equipment that delivers exceptional performance while being aesthetically pleasing. Over the years, Brinkmann has expanded its offerings to include various turntables and tonearms, maintaining a focus on analog playback as a core aspect of its identity in the high-end audio market.
