Calibre Origins

The Calibre turntable manufacturer is associated with Audio Excellence, a Toronto-area dealer, which is making its first foray into the turntable business. The Calibre Mk.101, their first model, was introduced with the aim of providing “the best reproduction of records at the lowest price possible.” However, the Calibre turntable is not a new design or a new model; it has undergone several iterations and modifications. Adrian Low, who has been involved with the manufacturer for 18-24 months, has made several modifications to the design to improve its performance. The Calibre Mk.101 features a marble plinth, a 1.5" thick acrylic platter, an AC motor with speed regulation, and a high-quality polished bearing.
