Rossner & Sohn

Origins of Rossner & Sohn

Rossner & Sohn is an audio company known for manufacturing high-end turntables and related equipment. The company was founded by Christoph Rossner, who had a background in precision engineering and machining. In 1999, Rossner & Sohn released their first commercial turntable, marking the beginning of their journey in the analog audio equipment market.

Christoph Rossner’s interest in finding the best sound quality led him to build his own analog equipment. Over time, the company has produced various models, including the flagship “The Mott” turntable, which features a rotating platter weighing 232 kg and a combined unit weight of over 325 kg. This model is available in two versions: one with an oil bearing and manual adjustment, priced at €48,000, and another with an automatic pneumatic adjustment and air bearing, priced at €135,000.
