Audio Technica AT-1240-USB

The Audio-Technica AT-LP1240-USB is a  professional-grade, fully manual direct-drive turntable designed  primarily for DJs but also suitable for home audiophiles. It features a  high-torque 16-pole, 3-phase brushless DC motor with electronic braking,  enabling rapid start-up and precise stopping control. The turntable  supports three speeds—33 1/3, 45, and 78 rpm—and includes a variable  pitch control with selectable ranges of ±10%, ±20%, or ±50%, plus a  quartz-controlled pitch lock for stable playback.

Its tonearm is an S-shaped, static balanced design with  adjustable tracking force, anti-skate, and a detachable universal  headshell pre-mounted with an Audio-Technica AT-XP5 moving magnet  cartridge. The tonearm lift is hydraulically damped for smooth cueing.  The platter is a 332mm die-cast aluminum design with an anti-resonance  construction, paired with a DJ-style felt slip mat.

The AT-LP1240-USB offers dual start/stop buttons for  flexible placement, start and brake control knobs to adjust the speed of  starting and stopping (from 0.2 to 6 seconds), and a reverse rotation  button to play records backward. It incorporates a built-in switchable  phono preamp, allowing connection to either phono or line-level inputs  on amplifiers or mixers.

Connectivity includes stereo RCA outputs with a  grounding lug and a USB-B port for direct digital connection to a Mac or  PC. This USB interface enables vinyl-to-digital conversion using  included or downloadable software such as Audacity, supporting  CD-quality recording (16-bit/44.1 or 48 kHz). The turntable comes with  accessories including a slip mat, removable dust cover, 45 rpm adapter,  counterweight, USB cable, and RCA adapters.
