Additional information

  • Design and Engineering: The La Platine Magnum is the culmination of J.C. Verdier's 30 years of research into turntable design and engineering.

  • Magnetic Bearing System: The Platine Verdier uses magnetic repulsion forces, which eliminates the need for a thrust bearing.

  • Oversized Pieces: Its originality lies in the systematic use of very largely oversized pieces.

  • Platter: The La Platine has a 50cm platter. The platter's size and weight are close to the theoretical ideal. The platter weighs 18kg and is made of high-grade aluminum.

  • Base: The base is made of granite, giving the turntable a colossal weight of 400kg. The base is comprised of a hollow metacrylic plinth with three sprung feet for support. The sprung feet support diaphragms that house the top plate.

  • Motor: It features an individualized motor drive system.

  • Drive: It is still belt-driven, but because of the magnetic bearing, it is claimed that both bearing and surface noise are radically reduced.

  • Dimensions: The platter is 50 cm.

  • Weight: The turntable weighs a colossal 400kg
