Additional information
The Klangwellen Manufaktur Cantano turntable, now primarily known under the Cantano brand, is a high-end audio device designed for optimal sound quality and aesthetic appeal.
Turntable (Cantano W)
Speed: The turntable supports both 33 and 45 rpm playback speeds.
Bearing: The platter is supported by a hardened steel spindle on a sapphire ball, ensuring smooth rotation. However, earlier models used a slide-bearing bushing made of high-alloy bronze surrounding the fixed spindle made of hard metal.
Platter: The platter is composed of graphite of special density and black anodized aluminum. In newer models, the platter is attached to the lower aluminum turntable via a more visually appealing bolting system.
Base: The turntable's base is made from a wood-encased slate, providing stability and resonance control. The wooden frame can be crafted from four different types of wood.
Dimensions and Weight: The base measures 450/270/360 mm (W/H/D) and weighs approximately 29 kg (64 lbs).
Motor and Drive: The motor is housed in a steel cylinder and is powered by an external power supply developed by Cantano. The drive system uses a square rubber belt for smooth power transmission.
Tonearm (Cantano T)
Material: The tonearm is crafted from titanium, chosen for its high strength-to-weight ratio and low natural resonance.
Compatibility: It is designed to accommodate cartridges up to 16 grams in weight.
Mounting Distance: The pivot-to-spindle distance is 294 mm, and the overhang is 10.08 mm.
Design Features: The tonearm features a unipivot design with anchors to prevent wobbling. It includes a redesigned headshell with more space for cable connections and system components.
Additional Features
Azimuth Adjustment: The tonearm allows for azimuth adjustment by rotating it.
Anti-Skating Solution: The anti-skating mechanism does not interfere with the arm's movability.
SSC Instrument Feet: Included for improved sound quality by reducing vibrations when placed on less-than-ideal bases
