Additional information

The Ariston RD11S PC 1007 is a variant of the highly regarded Ariston RD11S turntable, a classic British belt-drive deck from the 1970s. It features precision engineering and advanced suspension and bearing technology, closely related to the original RD11 and the Linn Sondek LP12 lineage.

Key Technical Features

  • Drive System:
Belt drive powered by a 24-pole hysteresis synchronous AC motor mounted on a silicone isolation subframe.
This motor design ensures smooth, quiet, and highly stable platter rotation with minimal wow and flutter.

  • Speeds:
Supports 33⅓ and 45 rpm playback speeds.

  • Platter:
Two-piece precision ground and balanced platter weighing approximately 9.5 pounds (4.3 kg).
Heavy platter provides high rotational inertia, contributing to excellent speed stability.

  • Main Bearing:
Precision PTFE (Teflon) cushioned main bearing shaft offering ultra-low friction and self-lubrication.
This advanced bearing technology results in very low rumble and noise.

  • Suspension:
Free-floating subcradle suspension with a low-mass circular tonearm board and platter mounted on steel coil springs with polyurethane dampers.
This suspension system minimizes feedback and stylus bounce even on severe floor vibrations.

  • Tonearm Compatibility:
Compatible with SME, Grace, or blank armboards, allowing use of high-quality tonearms such as the SME 3009.

  • Construction:
Teak plinth with plexiglass dust cover and friction hinges.
    Total weight approximately 13 kg.

  • Performance:
    Wow and flutter: approximately 0.03%.
    Rumble: around -74 dB weighted.
Known for very low noise floor and excellent speed stability.
