Additional information

Drive System

  • Belt-drive with a Mylar belt (multiple thickness options: 3.5 mil mastering tape, 2.5 mil leader tape, 1.5 mil VHS tape, or 0.5/0.25 mil data tape variants).

  • 12V DC motor with precious metal brushes and sleeve bearings, housed in a silicone oil & shot-damped pod for vibration isolation.

Platter and Bearing

  • 2" Teflon composite platter (black Teflon variant for sonic superiority), filled with silicone oil and shot for damping.

  • Single-ball thrust bearing for low-friction rotation.

Tonearm Compatibility

  • Modular arm pods: Machined from 6061-T651 aircraft aluminum billet, weighing 14 lbs each.
Accommodates 9" or 12" tonearms via customizable top plates (arm boards).
    Rubberized setscrews prevent metal-to-metal contact.

Construction

  • Base: Solid aluminum billet, finished in automotive-grade paint or custom platings.

  • Weight: ~150 lbs (varies by configuration).

Performance

  • Speed: 33⅓ and 45 RPM (user-adjustable belt tension for fine-tuning).

  • Acoustic damping: Silicone oil/shot damping in platter, motor pod, and arm pods minimizes resonance.

Key Features

  • No factory dust cover (user must supply).

  • Belt tensioning: Requires manual adjustment of motor pod position for optimal startup.

Context

  • Positioned between the entry-level Model MG (stainless steel weight) and flagship Model XX (half-ton stand-mounted design).

  • Praised for "lifelike bloom, air, and focus" in reviews, with exceptional soundstage depth/width.
