Additional information

The Sherwood ST-890 is a direct-drive turntable produced during Sherwood’s Inkel days, made in Japan by Fujiya Audio. It features a robust motor with high torque, which maintains excellent speed stability, and uses hall effect sensors in the motor to monitor and control platter speed via a control chip. Unlike quartz-lock models, the ST-890 relies on a frequency generator and hall sensors for stability, rather than a crystal oscillator, making it a non-quartz lock design.
