Additional information
Esoteric presents the T-01 as a separate model rather than as a Grandioso-series product, although it inherits design principles and technologies from the earlier Grandioso T1.
Esoteric announced the T-01 on 21 August 2026, with international shipment scheduled for the end of September 2026. An arm-less version, the T-01 AL, is also planned.
Drive system
The defining feature is Esoteric’s patented MagneDrive System, Japanese patent JP6501130. It is a non-contact, magnetically induced drive system:
A dome-shaped magnetic driver with alternating north and south poles is mounted above the motor.
The platter is made from non-magnetic aluminium.
A soft-iron induction wheel surrounds the lower part of the platter.
The rotating magnetic driver induces motion in the induction wheel, causing the platter to rotate without direct physical contact between the motor-drive components and the platter.
Esoteric’s stated objective is to isolate the platter from motor-borne vibration and rumble while avoiding the periodic replacement associated with a conventional drive belt.
The motor driver incorporates a Master Sound Discrete Clock and accepts an external 10 MHz clock through a BNC input. Esoteric specifies compatibility with its G-01XD and G-05 master clocks.
Magne-Float platter
The T-01 uses Esoteric’s Magne-Float Platter Technology. According to Esoteric, the platter itself weighs 13 kg, while its effective mass during operation is reduced to approximately 4 kg through magnetic support. The stated purpose is to reduce spindle-bearing friction while retaining a substantial platter structure.
The published material also specifies an inverted bearing system for smooth and stable platter rotation. Esoteric does not publish the bearing material, bearing-clearance figures, lubricant specification, or a detailed service procedure in the launch information.
Chassis and isolation
The chassis uses a triple-layer aluminium and MDF construction. The middle chassis section has a high-gloss piano-lacquer finish. Esoteric says the combination is intended to control vibration.
The T-01 also uses integrated isolation feet incorporating:
A spike.
A spike pad.
A damper.
Esoteric describes the feet as being designed for vibration suppression and resistance to acoustic feedback. Those are manufacturer design objectives, not independently published performance measurements.
The power supply is a separate, compact unit. The resulting system consists of the main turntable assembly plus the external power-supply enclosure, which Esoteric says makes installation easier and provides separation between the power supply and turntable.

Technical interpretation
The T-01 combines four distinct engineering approaches:
Contactless magnetic drive to remove direct mechanical coupling between the motor-drive element and platter.
Magnetic platter support to reduce the effective rotational load on the spindle bearing.
External 10 MHz clock synchronisation for the motor-control system.
Massive, isolated construction intended to reduce vibration transmission and acoustic feedback.
The design is consequently closer to a precision electromechanical platform than to a conventional belt-drive turntable. Its principal claimed advantages are low motor-related vibration, high torque, pitch stability, and reduced mechanical wear. Esoteric describes those as design outcomes, but the company’s launch material does not provide independent measurements of rumble spectrum, torque ripple, absolute speed error, or the effect of external-clock operation.
